Judging Criteria for Contests in Central Texas: A Comprehensive Guide

Organizing a contest in Central Texas requires careful consideration of the judging criteria. The Beacon State Fund and the Governor's Commission for Women (the “Hostesses”) are jointly organizing the competition for submissions from small businesses owned by women in Texas (“Contest”). The number of judges for the tasting will be determined based on the number of participants. In order to ensure that the evaluation process is fair and accurate, it is important to attend practice contests and clinics to hone the skills needed for this section of the contest.

The Host may prohibit you from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that you are attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest through cheating, hacking, deception or any other unfair gaming practice or with the intention of harassing, intimidating, abusing, threatening or harassing other players or representatives of the Host. To further prepare for this section, face-to-face training for specific problems (in the Central region and in Houston) will be conducted through online conferences in 2020. The Hosts reserve the right to waive the contest entry requirements set forth in this document at their reasonable discretion, including extending any deadline. By following these guidelines and attending practice contests and clinics, you can ensure that your contest is judged fairly and accurately. This will help to ensure that all participants have an equal chance of winning.
